So they got to tie the knot afterall! I remember thinking two weeks ago.... I wonder if we'll even get a white Christmas. There hasn't been any snow at all. Then, the day we wanted to take pictures at the Logan Temple, it snowed and snowed. We took them anyway knowing that on their actual wedding day, they would be very busy and getting photos out of the way would be best.
We woke up on December 23rd to Snow, Snow, Snow! Everyone needed to be to the temple by noon and that would mean leaving for Sardine canyon by 10:30 am at the latest. Just then my phone rang... it was Sam. "Lei, we've decided to change venues." "What?!" I didn't know you could do that. I guess he called the Ogden Temple and said, "My fiance and I need to get Sealed today." HA! I was so impressed that he and Jenne would be willing to change their dream location so everyone would be safe getting there. What a beautiful ceremony!

Hey, Hey, The Gang's All Here
Well Almost....
Here's my mom's family. All of us except Melanie, George and their kids; Jared, Kimber and Katelyn; Jennie and Graig; and Brett. What a crew! We gathered at my aunt's house for Thanksgiving. The weather was perfect for this family picture. There's 40 in the picture... only 12 missing- not bad, not bad.

Rice Face
This is Katelyn's "Rice Face". She squinches up her nose and kinda breathes in her lips. It's not quite a snort yet but it is sooooooo funny. I guess she started making it when she first started eating solid foods and the rice well.....Have you smelled that stuff?
Last night I got to play with her while her mommy and daddy played scouts. She is such a ball. When she makes her rice face I snort at her and she laughs and laughs and laughs. What a dolly!

Ashley's Blessing
Sunday, I went to Provo to see my cousin's second child, Ashley, be blessed by her father. Afterwards, we had a little picnic in their quad park. I have such a fantastic family! So many of the Carters gathered to see this special event. Chris & Crystal's family drove from Rexburg, Idaho! This is a picture of their youngest daughter (for now--Crystal's expecting YAY!) Aubri. Isn't she a doll?

Tim McGraw
So my cute Becca friend called Sam and Me and asked if we'd like to see Tim McGraw on Friday night. um YEAH! So here we are. This is the first time I've been to a performing artist concert. I've been to loads of symphony's and chorus' and I've even seen the Canadian Brass, but this was the first time I've seen anything... I dunno 'contemporary'? It was so fun!!!! We sat on the lawn at the Usana Ampitheater and watched the warm up bands, laughed at the drunk people and just enjoyed being friends. It was great!

Poor Puppy!
Yes, that really is my THUMB! The largest bladder stone was larger than the tip of my thumb from thumb nail up. There were 5 stones but the fifth one didn't fit in the frame. The three smallest were about the same size. Poor Baby! He came through the surgery okay though. Now we just have to teach him how to use his artificial ACL. Right now he holds that leg straight as if it were a piece of wood attached at the body. So sad.

Terrible Weekend
I have had cupid since 1999 when my dad surprised me for Valentines Day. He has been a constant companion. Though he loves to do all kinds of tricks and ride the 4 wheelers with us, he's a rather fragile little guy. When he jumped off mom's one stair porch, and hurt his rear left paw on May 7th, we figured he had maybe fractured one of the small bones in his paw. When I took him to the vet, I was stunned to hear that he had torn his ACL and would probably not live long. We spent the weekend in tears saying goodbye to this pet who had become part of our family.
Mom insisted we get a second opinion and called all of our friends asking for vet recommendations. We found Dr. White who indicated that though Cupid had other problems besides the ACL (he had bladder stones that needed to be removed) he was confident that he could perform the surgery quickly and that cupid would survive the anesthesia!!! Surgery is set for Thursday. I went thinking I was going to have to Euthanize "Woman's best Friend" and the doctor said we can fix him!!!

Spring iz in Ze Air
Okay, so this project started as me wanting a picture of these vibrant dandelion (weeds) on a green backdrop of grass as cheery desktop wallpaper for my work computer.... But as I was taking pictures of a clump of these yellow darlings, a bee dropped in to get a little breakfast. What's a girl to do but grab as many pictures as she can?? I was really surprised at how much of the pollen stuck to his fuzzy body as he rolled around in the petals of the flower head.
Happy Mother's Day!
Just so you know, I have the very best Mom. She has been my best friend for I can't count how long. She's just so amazing. She loves like no one loves, she cares like no one cares. She has this laugh that you can't help but laugh at. She loves her kids like a momma grizzly bear- don't mess with her cubs. I'm sorry to the rest of you who have to settle for the 2nd best mom in the world cuz I've got the best right here!

Cody is an Eagle Scout!
Cody got his Eagle Scout Award!!! May 10th. It was such a neat program. The Ogden Nature Center brought a bald eagle for the ceremony. There were four other scouts getting their awards that day. Justin got to participate in the colorguard ceremony and held the American Flag. Then we took a million and one pictures of Cody :) He has a lot of people who love and care about him.

Dreaming of Days to Come
Okay, so today was one of those days in Spring when it starts to get warm and you start thinking of summer and all the things that summer brings. For me summer means our annual Bear Lake Reunion with the Carter Clan. The reunion has been my Carter Grandparent's yearly tradition for nearly as long as I can remember and one of the highlights of my summer. This summer also marks the return of my littlest bro. from his Mission to Macon, Georgia. I am literally counting down the days until his return (don't tell him though!). I found this neglected roll of film and had it developed last week and was surprised to find pictures of Russ at Bear Lake. It was fate! Destiny for my blog!

Katelyn Caught Grandpa!
Mom and Dad invited the whole family over for Sunday Dinner. Kimber hadn't held her baby all day and so she wasn't sharing but grandpa really wanted to hold her. His puppy brown eyes broke her down and grandpa got his way. Add to Katelyn's talley. She had her daddy wrapped now she's got Grandpa too! It's really cute to watch dad hold her. He loves to stroke her hands and watch her dream. Katelyn still sleeps a lot! It's hard to believe she's a little over 7 weeks old!
Jared and Kimber and Katelyn came in matching outfits today: jeans and t-shirts from Kimber's brother's company. Kately looked so big! Jeans are such a big girl thing. What a cutie. And Grandpa is so proud.

Bathtime for Baby!
We had the most fun this weekend! We had girls night during Priesthood Session Saturday. Kimber and Katelyn came over and we watched Persuasion after enjoying chinese food and giving Katelyn a bath. She cries and cries when you take away her clothes but as soon as she's in the water she's a happy camper. What a water baby!
Sunday, we tied bows for Katelyn's hair while we watched conference. After, Becca, Sam, Mom, Dad, Jared and Kimber and I had knock-off Cafe' Rio Salads and watched Alvin and the Chipmunks. What a funny movie!

She's Captured his Heart
And she's never giving it back! After I took these pictures and was reviewing them, I was so touched to see how my little bro is becoming a DAD! He loves his little girl so much. She is so lucky to have such a neat daddy in her life. And, yes, he is already wrapped around her little finger even if she's not fully aware of that fact yet. She has captured his heart and there is no giving it back.
Here's the Princess!

Happy Easter!!!
This is my cousin's son, Brigham. He was so enthralled with this duck he completely forgot about his candy! Maybe we should write a new diet book :) We had such a wonderful time at Leanne's house. Everyone made it up except Melanie, Jenni, Crystal and their families; Brett who is on his mission, and Stephanie. What a wonderful Easter celebration.

For Fun
Your mind's strengths allow you to think ahead of the game — to imagine or anticipate what should come next in just about any situation. Because you're equally skilled in the numerical and verbal universes of the brain, you can draw from multiple sources of information to come up with great ideas. The timelessness of your vision and the balance between your various skills are what make you a Visionary Philosopher.
In addition to your strengths in math and linguistics, you have a knack for matching and anticipating patterns. These skills and your uncanny ability to detect the underlying blueprint of most of life's situations add to your Visionary Philosopher mind.
Two philosophers who share the same combination of skills you possess are Plato and Benedict Spinoza. Spinoza had insight into how things worked in the world. He could envision a future based on the patterns he saw in life, and used mathematical logic as a structure within which to present his philosophical arguments. With that base he was able to use logic to formulate his theories. Borrowing from his linguistic strengths he wrote eloquent texts and, therefore, was able to bring his philosophical ideas and structure to the rest of the world. His story exemplifies the talents that are present in the Visionary Philosopher intellectual type.
Whatever you decide to do in life, you've got a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a wide variety of ways. You can expand your mind to understand a situation. Your strong balance of math and verbal skills will help you explain things to others. For example, if you were on an archaeological dig and discovered an object, you could probably use your deductive powers to figure out not only what the object was but also how it was used. Given your ability to put things together, you are more than capable of inventing a life plan that is in synch with your perspective on how things were, how they are, and how they might be one day.
